Found it in the BitTorrent FAQ: I'm using a Mac, and when I double-click on BitTorrent, the icon appears momentarily in the Dock, bounces, and then vanishes. BitTorrent won't start. This is a known problem under Mac OS X 10.2. BitTorrent currently does not support OS X 10.2, only 10.3 and newer. Gee, it would have been nice if they'd included system requirements somewhere that they're easily found.
Instead, the download page just says 'OS X - all users'. I guess I'll mess with it after I turn loose of a hundred bucks to get 10.4. I'm getting a huge kick out of the stats! I'm seeing downloaders from all over the world - Sweden, Germany, Ireland, England. shows 60 downloads. shows another 19 completed and 5 in progress.
My own last-ditch-resort tracker shows 4 complete and 2 ongoing That's nearly 100 downloads in less than a week! And, downloaders are free to burn as many DVD's as they like, to distribute to prospective FSP members. With blank DVD's costing less than $1 each these days, this is a very economical way to get a fun, engaging FSP introduction to a wide audience. Congrats to all, and especially huge thanks to the folks committed to seeding this 24/7. You people ROCK!
