Same problem here for me. Mac convert to mp3. I've also tried to follow Imran Khan's steps below but I do not see 'shared document' or any actions for 'open with windows explorer' Sadly this sort of problem is a daily thing. For all I know I don't have the proper permissions to open with windows explorer. I'm so frustrated with SharePoint - I've never experienced a product with so many different menus and screens you have to go to just to do work on one page. It's maddening. As of SharePoint 2012, I wouldn't recommend this product to everyone. Since starting to work with it a few months ago, I spend hours almost every week searching (internally with our experts who are just as confused as I am, or online in places like Technet) for answers to what should be very simple questions. Why can't we just upload multiple files from THE FILE UPLOAD DIALOG? Why would we have to go SOMEWHERE ELSE to upload more than one file at a time?! Walter VH further points out in his response that apparently uploading multiple files causes them to lose their metadata! Way to go on the programming for this fantastic product! Update: I found out there ACTUALLY IS AN UPLOAD MULTIPLE FILES option when uploading files to a library, at least in SharePoint 2010. But guess what? You have to use Internet Explorer! Thanks, Microsoft! In fact, when I used Firefox, I could see the link to upload multiple files, but it promptly disappeared after loading. Apparently this is related to some ActiveX control used for this feature. Just more compelling evidence that I will never recommend this product to anyone.
How to perform these steps: 1. Use a Microsoft-sanctioned browser (hint: there's only 1) 2. Go to your library and click '+ Add Document' 3. Below the 'Name:' box you should see a link that says 'Upload Multiple Files.'
- if you do not then something is wrong and I can't help from this point, but you.should. see that option if it's working right. Drag your files in and upload or click 'Browse for files instead' More food for thought: if you just click 'Browse' instead of the multiple document option, and then browse for files, you get the exact same window. The only difference is in one you can only select one file at a time, but in the other one you can select more than one. What genius design. Www.standardexcellence.net Oklahoma IT Superhero.
