If you are going LCD then you need to go full out on a widescreen 30' or larger. Not larger then 32' though if you have 1366x768 as max res though. Problem is running higher res on such large screens cause a bigger load since you have more showing on screen each frame. But seriously the CRT there have great IQ. My sony kdl32v2000 which is about the best 32' LCD tv at 1366 available has as good colours. However black levels are not as good and though ghosting is negligable it´s there in racing games especially. Not so much it really bothers me though.

Overall the CRT does produce a better image but in my case the larger screen and widescreen format more then compensates. I don´t want to play on my CRT anymore because it feels to small now.
So don´t traid a 19' CRT for a 19' LCD. Use the benefits of the LCD:s that is they come in larger sizes and widescreen format.
It will cost you quite a bit more but if you watch dvd movies as well and need a tv it´s a much better choice Great sitting in the sofa and play Tiger Woods 06. Trinitron and Diamondtron monitors is quite fragile while moving. The tube is so heavy if you move it you will get parts of the soldering inside loosening. We had a 32' Trinitron monitor at home and when going for repairs he soldered it in like 100 spots. This is normal for these kind of monitors he said. I never had that issue with my old Sony Trinitron but my current Philips 202P40 at 60 hertz it jumps. 85 hertz very little but still not exactly as when it was new.
Not sure if you can rma it for that reason it works perfectly well. Then I can run 120 hertz at 1280x960 and it´s not fuzzy the slightest bit But yeah buying used is always risky in term of monitors. They often have a inbuilt self destruct mecanism so they hold exactly 3 years that usually is the warranty then they break. Thus I got a monitor with 5 year warranty lol. However I do wonder if they have replacements for it any longer or if it would be replaced by a LCD.
