Quicken 2004 For Mac
Is that 2003 as in year 2003? If so it is probably a PPC only application. If you right click on the application icon in Applications folder does it say anything about being 'PPC' or 'Universal'? If it says PPC it will not run under a later system as support for PPC era applications was dropped in later systems. I believe some people set their computers to run two different operating system versions.
One method is to simply restart from the newer system when you need it. Depending upon how much interfacing you need this can be a nuisance. Another is a more complicated solution and that is to run 10.6 inside a newer OSX version which requires special software and a special version of 10.6. Well I guess a third solution is to do what I do right now and that is have two computers.

I am not sure where you are getting your information, but it is incorrect. I converted my years of work on Quicken Deluxe 2002 to Quicken 2007 back in early 2012, when the Intel version fo Quicken 2007 was released: 1) Quicken 2007 for Mac is available from Intuit for $15 using their online support Chat feature. Ask more than once if they attempt to sell you Quicken 2015 or 2016 for Mac, as these versions are not as robust as Quicken 2007. 2) Quicken 2007 was completely rewritten for use on Intel Mac and the current version, 16.2.3, is El Capitan compatible. 3) Quicken 2007 has a check writing feature: Here is a recent post that I assembled: Quicken 2007 for Mac has been continuously upgraded for OS X compatibility, including Yosemite and now El Capitan. AVOID Quicken 2015 for Mac as it is a misleading upgrade of Quicken Essentials for Mac (and not Quicken 2007), which is generally loathed by all real Quicken for Mac 2007 and previous users!
