BitTorrent has announced it is launching a new content distribution app called BitTorrent Now, which lets users stream music and video from a library of independent artists and filmmakers. The app will soon be available for iPhone, iPad, and Apple TV, and offers a catalogue of free, paid, and ad-supported, on-demand content, including VR content as and when it becomes available. Use of BitTorrent's Bundle format will allow content creators to require users to register or pay for media distributed through the platform, and give them greater control over how their content is offered, presented, and shared:This is what happens when artists have agency: our shared culture becomes more diverse, more whole; more sustainable.
And that’s why we started BitTorrent Bundle: to give artists options. The freedom to share your story, no matter what form it takes. The right to know, understand, and reach your audience. The right to choose your business model. The app's launch can be seen as an attempt by the company to distance itself from the file-sharing protocol of the same name and reframe its brand as a legitimate media service, quite apart from the pirated content often associated with the peer-to-peer network. The app doesn't currently rely on peer-to-peer technology, although The Verge reports that BitTorrent is working to include support.
BitTorrent Now is 'coming soon' to iOS and Apple TV. Those who request an invite to the service will receive updates on its availability.
That's exactly what I did. I had to unlock the APFS volume in order for the APFS patch option to be available (not greyed out). The only difference is that I unlocked the volume using Disk Utility included on the bootable USB instead of the CLI command.
After I applied the APFS patch, my Macbook5,1 rebooted into the custom EFI boot loader, but then I got the 'boot file not found, exiting' message. This is the same message I got before with an older version of the EFI boot loader that did not support encrypted APFS volumes. The 'Post Install' tool indicates v2.3.0 although the patcher version is v2.4.0; is this normal? Thanks cinergi. Click to expand.Ok, so I installed HS again (latest installation media). I try to restore data my TimeMachine Backup, but it fails??
Only create user accounts but not restored any data. clipboard seems to work now OK. sleep problem still exist. RED login screen and Preview red bug still there. Photos, not tested yet. Share menu behavior is strange? I can't add new programs in share menu and example Mail is missing?
I can't tick 'share menu' in Internet accounts. Not tested yet.
Time Machine migration assistant not work. I notice on the Apple Communities High Sierra page a lot of people are missing not having the Assist Me button on the Network preference pane in System Preferences. So I had a bit of a guddle about using bits from a Sierra install. The instructions below are what I did, if anyone is interested I would like them to try it out on their machines but only if they have a machine that they can fiddle about on and have backups incase everything goes Pete Tong. Some feedback would be nice too.
Or if I have missed out on an altogether easier more beautiful solution then please tell me. My other concern is that each time a newer version of High Sierra is released you will need to do the same procedure for each release to get back the Network Assistant/ Diagnostics functionality. Network Assistant In High Sierra the Network Diagnostics and Network Setup Assistant apps are no longer in the System/Library/CoreServices location as they had been in previous OS’s. So I copied those apps over from a Sierra install, the apps are in the same location as above. To drag them over to your High Sierra install you need to be an administrator as this needs to be Authenticated. Next in High Sierra we need to go to System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/SetupAssistantFramework.framework/Versions/A/SetupAssistantFramework hold the Control key down and click on SetupAssistantFramework then from the submenu click Move To Trash.
Now move the framework out of the trash and keep it in an appropriately named folder. Next in Sierra we need to go to System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/SetupAssistantFramework.framework/Versions/A/SetupAssistantFramework we then copy the framework over to the corresponding location in High Sierra. Restart your Mac. You should now be able to launch the apps from within the Core Services folder, or if you prefer move the items to the Dock, just drag the icons to the dock, left side of the separator. Or you could make an alias of each and drag them onto your desktop. Ok, so I installed HS again (latest installation media).

Time Machine migration assistant not work. Click to expand.I have none of those problems, except the entirely cosmetic red bug in Preview and some temporary Apple ID mess in Itunes (fixed by using Appstore first). Since reported bugs are not consistently reproducable, I conclude that it is not really hardware related, but due to a rather buggy initial release in general.
I suppose much of it will be fixed in coming point releases. But then again, do you really need High Sierra? I experience absolutely no difference, except that the occasional screen flickering I had before now is gone.
I suspect Window Server being all metal is the main gain from this update. And again, I installed on top of a working Sierra environment. This machine has been obedient to every new system since 2008, only new install ever was in fact Sierra.
Click to expand.Yes. Thank you I have actually already done (3) 2009 Mac mini's Plus changed the Wifi Card in the three. AND all three now have SSD's & 8GB's RAM, which make them run buttery smooth. Super Thanks to Dosdude1 and everyone who provided input, feedback and resources!!! I was just looking for some actual feedback from a 2008 iMac 24' owner about their experience Post the upgrade. The thing with those, is the RAM is typically ONLY 4GB's, though they can be upgraded to 6GB's Mine is a 2008 iMac Early 24' with 4GB's RAM and the 3.06 GHz Core 2 Duo CPU which is why I seek answers to: How does your iMac run?
Does it have 4GB's RAM or 6GB's? Does it have an SSD or the stock hard drive? Did you change the WiFi card or are you tethering to ethernet?
I'm thinking to install High Sierra thanks to the (wonderful) Dosdude tool. I've a MacBook Pro early 2008 with Sierra patched: I was wondering if it's a good idea to change to High Sierra. APFS is automatically installed with Dosdudetool - and it prevent, erasing all, to restore the backup of my data from time machine?? - It's APFS on my old MacBook an important change and its features can justify the upgrade?
- Any other suggestion? I thank anyone who wants to help me: I could not read all the previous posts here present because I don't speak well English. So, If you have these problems download (latest version in Mac App Store) and install it again (clean installation). clipboard seems to work now OK. sleep problem still exist NOT OK. Diamant pokemon download for mac free. RED login screen and Preview red bug still there NOT OK. Photos, no crash yet so maybe it is OK?.
Share menu behavior is strange? I can't add new programs in share menu and example Mail is missing? I can't tick 'share menu' in Internet accounts.
That is normal again OK. Time Machine migration assistant, After clean install something goes wrong.
I try again and all data is now migrated.
